Kurt's hope is to help Coastal Community Church continue growing into greater heights of authenticity and sacrificial love so that God uses us to impact every person on the Central Coast.
Zedekiah Fries,
Minister of Family Worship & Minister for Youth
Zedekiah, or Zed for short, grew up in Fresno, CA. He studied Psychology and Music at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. After moving back, he worked at Calvin Crest Conferences as both a Program Specialist and then as the Assistant Director for the Outdoor Education Program, teaching inner city 6th graders about nature and science. From there, he moved down to Ojai, CA to work as the Middle School Director for Ojai Presbyterian Church for two years, where he was responsible for ministering to 5th-8th graders. Throughout all of these experiences and occupations, he has continued to lead worship and it has become a notable and significant part of his life. Now, he is excited about leading worship at Coastal Community Church and about growing as a leader in the Youth Ministry.
Denise Fries
Minister of Children & Families
Denise joined Coastal Community Church in 2021 as the youth intern. She has a passion for working with children and youth. She taught high school math for a few years, hoping she could alleviate the fear of it to students who hated the subject. Teaching has always been something she’s enjoyed, and she aims to show the love that she has felt from CCC and God to our/ your children.
Juan Harris
Director of Celebrate Recovery
Straight out of the heart of the Big Apple! Juan's knack for turning life's twists and turns into opportunities for growth is as impressive as navigating the bustling streets of NYC. With a heart as expansive as the city skyline and a determination that rivals the spirit of NYC itself, Juan is your dedicated companion on the journey to recovery.
Matt Vargo,
Minister of Magic
Matt loves his wife, his cat, and hockey. Oh, and the Lord. He joined our team in the spring of 2020 and oversees our video production and technical logistics for our worship team. He also has an awesome YouTube channel.
Shahrad Teimouri
Minister of Restoration
Shahrad serves as the instructor for our Gymnazo class, and he considers it a job well done when he receives disapproving glances during Sunday service. Beyond his role in the class, he takes care of general maintenance, church cleaning (please remember to use a lid for your coffee!), and ensuring the smooth setup and breakdown of church events, for the most part.
In his personal life, Shahrad resides with his two children, Simone and Enzo, and he's patiently awaiting the passing of his 14-year-old Boston Terrier, Bentley.
Joe Ramirez,
Minister of Communications
Joe has called the central coast home since he was 5 years old. Now considered a native, he grew up just a few blocks from Coastal Community Church. Other than a few years in college, Joe has lived in the 5 cities and has been actively involved as a member of community in various aspects. He joined the team at Coastal Community Church in the winter of 2020. He has a broad array of interests including but not limited to coaching sports, off-roading, and playing video games. He and his 4 kids are so thankful to call the central coast home.
